Argen performs Charpy and Drop Weight impact testing for metallic materials. For Charpy impact testing, Ductile-Brittle transition curves can be determined, and properties such as Absorbed Energy, Lateral Expansion, and Percent Shear are reported. Specimens are generally notched, with v-notched being the most common. Argen performs Charpy testing down to -196 °C (-320 °F) and up to 250 ft. lbs. impact energy. Argen also performs dropweight impact testing to determine the nil-ductility transition temperature, with impact energies up to 450 ft. lbs.
