Metallurgical and Microstructure Analysis
Metallurgical experts at Argen are adept at performing classical metallurgical and microstructure analysis. We are fully equipped for cutting, mounting, polishing, and etching specimens. Examination and measurement are performed on either a conventional metallographic microscope or a state-of-the-art inverted digital microscope with brightfield / darkfield / interference contrast / polarized light imaging modes and sophisticated measurement and analysis software. Grain size and structure, inclusions, carb/decarb, phase fraction, weld evaluation and other aspects are examined. Argen is also equipped with sophisticated wide area optical profilometry for quantitative assessment of surface roughness, corrosion pitting, fracture surface, and other 3-D evaluations.
